The first time I got on a dating website, I believe I was having a chat to my sister, who said, "you should get on a dating website because you are too picky and you have all these requirements and you can specify exactly what it is that you want and don't want."
Picky, no, particular, yes!
Anyway, she had a point, so I signed on but within minutes, I shut down my profile. Why? It just didn't feel right!
The next time, my friend and I decided to get on one together, I did but she didn't! That time, I stayed on because the experience provided some much needed comic relief plus I had paid $20!
The next time, I was in a new city with limited expectations and that's when I met the love of my life!
Dating websites are like a world of their own; I'm saying websites not apps!
There are people who post photos that do not reflect their current situation, few missing teeth here, a few extra pounds, then throw on some extra years; it is bananas because the plan is to meet IRL, no?
I had a profile that was so very detailed, I received messages from people just telling me how much they appreciated the thoroughness and detail.
My B-Diddy says he almost didn't reach out because my profile looked too good to be true; but he thought to himself, catfish would never be that thorough, so he took the chance.
Some dos and don'ts:Do put up photos of your current likeness.Do state, honestly, your reason for being on a dating website.Don't entertain foolishness.Don't ever meet for the first time without talking on the phone a few times and getting important details like real name, etc (Google is your friend).Don't ever meet at a secluded venue.
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is...well, except in my case...haha!
